Our cadre of professionals know there's more
to catering than just great food. Our event managers oversee production
with extensive knowledge, creative flair and a passion for excellence.
They take extreme pride in their association and contribution to
the renowned reputation of A Thyme to Cook. Our staff is trained
and re-certified annually with frequent continuing education programs
in various aspects of event design and production as well as culinary
arts.

Linda
Sample, Owner Prior to opening
the original A Thyme to Cook specialty food shop in 1984, Linda's
original background is that of a pulmonary clinical nurse specialist.
A Thyme to Cook was the first all inclusive gourmet food shop and
cooking school in Southeastern Connecticut. The catering component
came into play when A Thyme to Cook catered the first Summer Music
Concert series at Harkness State Memorial Park. Her extensive travel
into kitchens from Italy to Africa combined with her nurse practitioner
expertise; render a care-taking philosophy of catering that permeates
throughout the company.
Gina
Barber, Senior Event Coordinator,
Gina's past experiences in floral design, graphic design, and as
a wedding videographer have given her an appreciation of each step
in the event planning process. Her capacity for understanding the
intricate nuances of her clients' needs, her ability to look at
all aspects of an event and fitting the pieces together are her
greatest strengths. Her genuine excitement for each event is reflected
in her attention to each and every detail. She has been putting
her creative energy to work for A Thyme to Cook since 1999.
Elizabeth
Shaffer, Assistant Event Coordinator Our latest addition to
our Event Staff comes with service experience from Walt Disney World.
She also shares an interest in sustainable foods and all things
"green."

Jesus Aranda, Dish Machine Operator (DMO), consistently wins the Cookery MVP award for his maintenance and sanitation of all the Cookery's equipment. He approaches the most dauntless of tasks with enthusiasm and a genuine smile.

Our professional and versatile service staff provides the highest
quality service and presentation. Most of our excellent staff have
been with the company for over 10 years - they love their jobs and
they are good at it!
Each year, we provide hands-on intensive training to all returning
and new staff with frequent internal education programs. All our
bartenders are TIPS certified and all of our Chefs and Kitchen Staff
are Serve Safe certified. We take pride in our staff and have put
together a remarkable team that will knock your socks off - and
they will pick them up for you!
